A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi, has accused the state governor Biodun Oyebanji of orchestrating "state-sponsored terrorism."
Olawumi alleged that the governor deployed police operatives to abduct and persecute her and members of her family over her legal challenge to the APC governorship primary.
In an open letter dated August 2, 2026, and addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Olawumi appealed for an urgent private audience with the President, claiming her life and those of her family members were in danger.
"I am compelled to write this open letter to your esteemed office with a bleeding heart, running out of options, and fearing for the lives of my family and myself," she wrote.
