Two people were arrested Sunday on suspicion of negligence that started the huge wildfire sweeping through forest and scrub west of Athens for the past three days.
The arrests followed the study, by Fire Service investigators, of video footage from the spot where the blaze started, as well as interviews with witnesses.
Investigators concluded that the fire was caused by sparks falling from cables carrying electricity from a private wind farm to the power grid in the Viotia region.
The two suspects are an electrical engineer who was responsible for the project and the person who had been responsible for installing the cables carrying electricity provided by the wind farm.
Both face criminal charges of arson with possible malice aforethought.
