According to LOAN, there has been no genuine effort by the Kwara State Government over the past three years to resolve the issues raised by state counsel despite repeated appeals and correspondence seeking intervention.

The Law Officers Association of Nigeria (LOAN), Kwara State Ministry of Justice Chapter, has accused the Kwara State Government of attempting to intimidate and victimise state counsel.

The association insisted that contrary to the government's claims, no meaningful negotiation or engagement has taken place since the association commenced its agitation over unpaid allowances, salary harmonisation and improved conditions of service.

The association made this known in a letter dated July 31, 2026, addressed to the Acting Head of Service, Office of the Head of Service, Ilorin, in response to an earlier government letter dated July 30, 2026, with reference number HS/CON/133/VOL.1/29.

The letter, signed by LOAN Chairman, Ayorinde K. M., and Secretary, Tolulope Pelumi Oniyide (Ms.), was titled: "Re: A 7-Day Notice of Indefinite Strike: Refutation of Your Wrong Assertion About the Strike Action Embarked Upon by State Counsel."
