The administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is facing a fresh labour crisis after members of the Law Officers Association of Nigeria (LOAN), Kwara State Ministry of Justice Branch, issued a seven-day ultimatum threatening to embark on an indefinite strike over the government's persistent failure to meet their welfare demands.

According to the lawyers, the planned strike became inevitable following the state government's continued neglect of repeated appeals and demands relating to their welfare despite the critical responsibilities they perform in the administration of justice and governance.
The association said it had written several letters to the governor requesting the payment of outstanding allowances and the implementation of agreed welfare packages, but lamented that the government had remained unresponsive.
