Sunday is the last day for eligible South Africans to register or update their details before the voters roll closes.
South Africans have until the end of Sunday to register to vote or update their voting details ahead of the November 4 local government elections, with the Electoral Commission of SA (IEC) warning there will be no further opportunity to register at voting stations.
Speaking during a media briefing on Saturday, IEC Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo said the final voter registration weekend had "commenced on a strong footing", with more than 99% of the country's 23,699 registration stations opening on time.
"We wish to remind all eligible voters that there will not be another opportunity for voting station-based registration," Mamabolo said.
"Voters are urged to use the remaining hours of today and tomorrow to register, verify, and update their details, ensuring that their registration details are correctly captured on the voters roll."
