DAC investigator Mantsha Robert Raphesu testified before the Madlanga Commission on Friday, raising serious concerns about discrepancies in the Section 27 affidavit presented to Parliament, as he seeks to pursue criminal action.
A senior Independent Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) investigator told the Madlanga Commission on Friday that the Section 27 affidavit before the inquiry was not the same document he was briefly shown before an investigation into senior Crime Intelligence officials began.
He testified that key allegations he remembered reading were absent from the version later presented to Parliament and the commission.
Mantsha Robert Raphesu also revealed that he intends to open a criminal case arising from the matters before the commission and appealed for its assistance in ensuring any investigation is conducted independently.
The commission, chaired by Acting Deputy Chief Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, is investigating matters arising from investigations conducted by the IDAC following a Section 27 referral submitted by MP Fadiel Adams.
