New Delhi: Congress parliamentarian KC Venugopal on Friday filed notices for breach of privilege before the Lok Sabha speaker against minister of state for the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh, accusing him of misleading the House while replying to the debate on the examination bill by stating that "no firing took place" against the students agitating against the examination paper leaks."This statement (of the minister) stands in direct contradiction to the facts on the ground. Contrary to the Hon'ble minister's assertions, firing did occur, and the injured person is still under medication, with data available in public domain," Venugopal said in his notice submitted to the speaker. "By falsely claiming on the floor of the House that no firing took p[lace, the minister has knowingly and deliberately provided incorrect information to Parliament and misled (the) House."
