New Delhi: Congress Lok Sabha member KC Venugopal on Tuesday submitted a notice to Speaker Om Birla seeking to move a breach of privilege motion against defence minister Rajnath Singh, alleging that he misled the house by stating earlier that Indian forces suffered no casualties during Operation Sindoor. In the notice, Venugopal argued that Singh's statement was contradicted by the recent official recognition of six soldiers martyred during the operation. "The aforementioned position clearly indicates that the minister of defence, while stating on the floor of the house that there had been no casualties during Operation Sindoor, was clearly misleading," Venugopal said in the notice."It is well-established that misleading the house or withholding information from the house by a minister on the floor of the house constitutes a breach of privilege and contempt of the house," said the notice.
