Mumbai: Bajaj Finance, India's biggest non-bank lender by market value, Thursday reported a 28% YoY increase in consolidated net profit at ₹6,081 crore for the June quarter, demonstrating consumer demand that underpinned loan growth at the company.Bajaj Finance had posted a net profit of ₹4,765 crore in the year-ago period. Assets under management (AUM) at Bajaj Finance, the only non-banking finance company (NBFC) to feature in the list of India's top 10 businesses by market capitalisation, climbed 24% year-on-year to ₹5.47 lakh crore as of June-end, compared with ₹4.41 lakh crore a year earlier. The lender, which specialises in small-ticket consumer loans, added ₹36,969 crore to its AUM during the quarter."As the nation progresses toward a developed India, Bajaj Finance remains committed to bridging opportunity with access, helping individuals and businesses turn their dreams into reality," Sanjiv Bajaj, chairman, Bajaj Finance, said while addressing shareholders in its annual general meeting. Bajaj Finance expects to disburse 60-62 million new loans during FY27. Net interest income rose 23% to ₹12,571 crore from ₹10,228 crore a year earlier, while net total income increased 22% to ₹15,224 crore from ₹12,460 crore.The company added 5.1 million customers during the quarter, taking its total customer franchise to 124.43 million as of June-end. Its cross-sell franchise stood at 79.22 million. The lender expects to add 18-20 million customers in FY27. Its deposit book stood at ₹68,534 crore and accounted for 15% of consolidated borrowings.
