Bajaj Finance Ltd (BFL) expects its consolidated assets under management (AUM) to multiply about seven times to ₹40 lakh crore by 2036 from ₹5.47 lakh crore as at June-end 2026.“While it took us 15 years to reach ₹2 lakh crore, it took only three more years to double our AUM…In FY27, BFL on a consolidated basis is poised to deliver AUM of ₹6.3-6.5 lakh crore (against ₹5.10 lakh crore as at March-end 2026) while sustaining its return on assets, return on equity, profitability and risk metrics,” Rajiv Jain, Vice-Chairman & Managing Director, told shareholders at BFL’s 39th Annual General Meeting.The diversified non-banking finance company’s (NBFC) has provided long-term guidance on consolidated metrics, including AUM growth in the 23-25 per cent range, profit growth in the 23-24 per cent range and gross non-performing assets of less than 1.4 per cent. It has subsidiaries such as Bajaj Housing Finance and Bajaj Financial Securities.Financial ecosystemEmphasising that GDP and the financial ecosystem are deeply connected, Jain noted India’s domestic credit has grown at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15 per cent to ₹235 lakh crore in the last 21 years. So, even if India’s domestic credit grows at 12 per cent, it is likely to reach ₹729 lakh crore by FY2036.He underscored that BFL’s AUM has grown at a CAGR of 34 per cent since inception, reaching ₹5.10 lakh crore as at March-end 2026. Hence, even if BFL grows at a CAGR of 23 per cent for the next 10 years, its AUM will be ₹40 lakh crore by FY2036, resulting in a market share of 5 per cent of India’s total credit.Jain said the company intends to deploy over 300 AI use cases in FY27, including AI text and voice bots for customers, facial recognition at branches and stores, ornament identification and classification and property documents assessment.Sanjiv Bajaj, Chairman, BFL, observed that the next phase of India’s development will be driven not only by large corporations but also by millions of small businesses, self-employed professionals, farmers, and first-generation entrepreneurs across both urban and rural India.
