The Polish prosecutor’s office has confirmed that a missile—most likely a Russian Kh-101—fell near the village of Tarnava-Kolonia in the Lublin Voivodeship on Wednesday night during a massive Russian attack on Ukraine.
This was announced at a briefing by Marcin Kozak, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“We know for certain that we are dealing with a missile, not a drone, and certainly not a ‘Geran.’ Most likely, it is an Kh-101 missile. It contained a significant warhead,” Kozak stated.
According to him, investigators are continuing to examine the missile’s impact site. He noted that the crater formed by the explosion is approximately 10 meters in diameter and about 5 meters deep.
Work is underway at the site to collect missile debris and other physical evidence; experts are also taking soil samples for specialized analysis.
