Polish authorities believe that the unidentified object that crashed near the village of Tarnawa-Kolonia in the Lublin Voivodeship during the night of July 29-30 was a Russian missile, although experts are still examining the remains.
A government source told Polish media outlet Wirtualna Polska that preliminary findings point to a Russian missile. Bomb disposal specialists remain at the site, where they are analyzing the object and working to determine its exact type.
“Everything points to it being a Russian missile,” the source said.
Some online analysts suggested that the object could have been a Kh-101 cruise missile, but this information has not been officially confirmed.
The incident occurred during a large-scale Russian missile and drone attack against Ukraine. On Thursday morning, the Polish Armed Forces’ Operational Command announced that an unidentified object had entered Polish airspace before disappearing from radar.
