Steel tables and benches. QSR model with scenes of trolleys of handis with food getting wheeled out in quick intervals. This quick service restaurant is in Kondapur where people don’t get to order pizzas and burgers — at Satti Babu, rice and curries dictate. And the preferred dining etiquette is eating with your hand. The spoons on the table are meant for serving. Here’s how everything unfolds. There’s a bit of a musical chairs and later, when you get a place to sit, a banana leaf is laid out. Within a few minutes the leaf is dotted with condiments starting with salt followed by onion, lemon, a gongura chutney and raita. A curry canister follows for the ones in love with gravy. All you have to do is select your choice of curry — mutton or chicken ghee roast, chicken fry piece or joint piece — and then, ask for either coconut rice or bagara rice.
