SAMA32: Reggae stars DIMAHR, Ras Canly, Don Dada, Layahn King and Red I Scorch compete for top honour

South Africa's reggae stars are preparing for one of the biggest moments of their careers as they compete for the Best Reggae Album award at the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMA32), presented by the Motsepe Foundation.

This year's nominees — DIMAHR, Ras Canly, Don Dada, Layahn King and Red I Scorch — have each spent the past year strengthening their place within South Africa's reggae landscape through music rooted in conscious storytelling, spirituality and messages of hope.

Their nominated albums — "DIMAHR", "Foreign Exchange", "Forward We Continue", "Rasta Man Step" and "Victorious" — showcase the diversity of South African reggae while remaining true to the genre's unmistakable rhythms and socially conscious roots.

For many of these artists, the nominations mark another milestone in careers dedicated to keeping reggae alive in South Africa, where the genre continues to attract loyal audiences despite an ever-changing music industry.
