The race for Best R&B Soul Album at the 32nd South African Music Awards is shaping up to be one of the ceremony's standout contests, with some of South Africa's finest voices competing for the coveted title.
"The Best R&B Soul Album category pays tribute to a genre that continues to captivate audiences through powerful vocals, heartfelt storytelling and timeless musical craftsmanship," said SAMA32 spokesperson Unathi Gwija.
This year's nominees prove exactly that as Gemma Fassie, Langa Mavuso, lordkez, Maxine Ceasar and Lucille Slade compete for one of the most respected honours at the 32nd South African Music Awards (Samas).
The Best R&B Soul Album category celebrates artists who have turned personal experiences into music that resonates with listeners across the country. Every nominee brings a different story, from healing and grief to love, self-discovery and growth.
Leading the race is Gemma Fassie with “Island 22”.
