The Ukrainian authorities have officially offered Poland assistance in conducting an on-site investigation of the crash site of an aircraft in the village of Tarnawa-Kolonia in the Lublin Voivodeship.

According to a Ukrinform correspondent, this was announced during a briefing by Grzegorz Trusewicz, head of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin.

“We have received an official request from the Ukrainian side to provide assistance during the inspection [of the crash site], as these are specialists with the most experience in handling such incidents. This request is currently under review, and they may arrive here and, together with Polish authorities, help identify the object that entered Polish airspace,” the prosecutor said.

He clarified that the Ukrainian authorities initiated this cooperation by sending an official letter to the Polish authorities.

Reporting on the incident, he noted that around 4 a.m. (local time), a resident of the Biłgoraj County in the Lublin Voivodeship alerted emergency services to a loud explosion. Police were the first to arrive at the scene, where they located the crash site of the unidentified object.
