The Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district, T.K. Swaroopa, on Wednesday said the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll was progressing well and that 9,87,587 enumeration forms out of a total of 10,63,876 voters had been digitised so far, achieving a progress rate of 92.83%.Chairing a review meeting on the SIR exercise with representatives of political parties at Rajatadri, the district office complex in Manipal, Ms. Swaroopa said that of the 1,112 polling booths in the district, 100% digitisation of enumeration forms had been completed in 733. Of the booths where digitisation has been completed, verification is complete in 562, while minor verifications are pending in 171.The Deputy Commissioner said booth level officers (BLOs) identified 19,840 voters in the district as deceased during house-to-house verification, while 24,679 voters had permanently relocated, and 7,521 new voters had registered.Ms. Swaroopa said digitisation of the remaining enumeration forms was going on at a swift pace and would be completed soon.Representatives of political parties commended the work being done by BLOs and said the parties were extending support to the SIR.
