MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives will prioritize the passage of bills removing the system loss charge from electricity bills and giving income tax relief to Filipino taxpayers, particularly the middle class, as outlined by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during his fifth State of the Nation Address (Sona).

“Our duty now is to turn into law proposals that will make the lives of our countrymen easier. The House is prepared to act immediately to advance these reforms,” Dy said in Filipino in a statement issued on Wednesday.

“We are one with the president in his goal to lower the expenses of families and give great relief to Filipino workers. These are the kinds of reforms that we must pass first,” he added.
