Lieutenant-General Sizakhele William Dyantyi has been appointed Western Cape Police Commissioner, succeeding Lieutenant-General Thembisile Patekile after a policing career spanning more than three decades and multiple senior leadership roles.
Lieutenant-General Sizakhele William Dyantyi has been appointed as the new Western Cape Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS).
Acting National Commissioner Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane announced the appointment at SAPS Provincial Headquarters in Cape Town on Wednesday morning.
The appointment follows the retirement of Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile at the end of June.
Major General Luyanda Damoyi had been serving as acting provincial commissioner since 1 July.
