In a poignant gathering in Durban, roleplayers identified challenges they faced during the KwaZulu-Natal round table on spaza shops. These included the struggle of local shop owners against foreign competitors, noting pricing and the use of “protection fees”. There was also a call for more inclusive government support for disabled people.
The round table was led by Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli and Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) MEC Reverend Musa Zondi in Durban on Tuesday.
