A total of 226 combat engagements between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian troops were recorded on July 28, with the heaviest fighting continuing in the Pokrovsk sector, where Russian forces launched 29 assaults.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its operational update as of 22:00, published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"Since the beginning of the day, there have been 226 combat engagements. The aggressor carried out 59 airstrikes using 190 guided aerial bombs, launched 6,125 kamikaze drones, and conducted 2,047 attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas," the statement said.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces carried out 54 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including one involving a multiple launch rocket system.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy launched 16 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Starytsia and Lyman, as well as toward Chaikivka, Kozacha Lopan, Izbytske, Anyskyno, Ambarne and Zapadne.
