A total of 189 combat engagements between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded on August 26, with the Pokrovsk sector remaining the hottest area of the front.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an update on the battlefield situation as of 22:00.

“Since the beginning of the day, a total of 189 combat engagements have taken place. The aggressor carried out 60 airstrikes using 197 guided aerial bombs, deployed 7,192 kamikaze drones for attacks, and conducted 2,340 shelling attacks on our troops’ positions and populated areas,” the statement said.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, four combat engagements took place since the beginning of the day. The enemy carried out 40 shelling attacks on Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions seven times near the settlements of Prylipka, Starytsia, Synelnykove, and Vilcha. Four engagements are still ongoing.
