MANILA, Philippines — Education Secretary Sonny Angara has ramped up the implementation by the Department of Education (DepEd) of executive directives for basic education, including teacher welfare, classroom construction, learner safety, and Senior High School (SHS) job readiness.
According to a DepEd statement on Tuesday, the move is in line with the thrust of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who said in his fifth State of the Nation Address on Monday: “Education is still the leading promoter of skills, which is why it’s the first on the list of this administration.”
Angara assured the public that DepEd was working systematically and decisively to translate the president’s vision.
