MANILA, Philippines — Education Secretary Sonny Angara highlighted on Monday sustained momentum in the Department of Education’s (DepEd) key programs ahead of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s fifth State of the Nation Address (Sona).

Reflecting on the past year’s milestones, Angara stressed that public funding had been translated into direct support for school infrastructure, teacher welfare, and learning support.

“This past year, President [Ferdinand] Bongbong Marcos [Jr.] put education at the center of his agenda. He laid down a clear roadmap,” Angara said in Filipino, as quoted in a statement issued by the Department of Education (DepEd).
