The Finnish Armed Forces have imposed restrictions on the use of airspace and maritime areas off the coast of Kotka and in Hamina in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland.
According to Ukrinform, Yle reported this.
It is noted that the restrictions on airspace use took effect after 8 a.m. The maritime zone was closed shortly thereafter. The restricted area borders the Kaunissaari district to the west and the port of Hamina to the north.
This is a precautionary measure related to drone attacks carried out by Ukraine on Russian territory.
The General Staff’s press service told Yle that the closure of the maritime areas and airspace is necessary so that, if needed, drones that might accidentally enter Finnish territory can be safely neutralized.
