Image: Jussi Lindroos / YleYle News7:33Updated 7:54The Finnish Defence Forces (FDF) placed a temporary aviation restriction area over part of the eastern Gulf of Finland around 6:10am on Monday.At 6:48am, authorities added a maritime restriction.FDF General Staff spokesperson Jere Paldanius told Yle that the restrictions are related to Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia.As of 7.30am, the FDF Defence Forces had not observed any drones straying into Finnish airspace."It cannot be ruled out that drones may have strayed into Finland. In such a situation, it is advisable to follow the Ministry of the Interior's drone guidelines," Paldanius said.The FDF introduced similar temporary aviation and maritime traffic restrictions in the eastern Gulf of Finland on Saturday morning and last Thursday, also amid drone strikes by Ukraine.Details of the latest aviation restrictions are shown on the Fintraffic Sky website.Shipping alerts are listed on Fintraffic's Marine Traffic site.Meanwhile at least nine people were killed when Russian ballistic missiles hit the Ukrainian capital Kyiv overnight.This story is being updated.
