At the very peak of the tourism season, just as coastal shipping has to serve the huge needs of the Greek islands, the Panhellenic Association of Merchant Marine Seafarers (PENEN) announced a targeted strike for Tuesday, at 2 pm, at one ferry on the Piraeus-Chios line that operates additional services due to the high demand.
This decision is set to create a chain reaction to the ship’s operation.
The management of Attica Group, which owns the ship, has appealed to Justice, and is requesting the strike be declared illegal and abusive. A hearing on the case is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at 9.30 am.
