Information obtained by IranWire indicates an escalating risk of imminent execution for at least two individuals sentenced to death in connection with the January 2026 protests in Isfahan.
According to these reports, Alireza Sepahi and Abolfazl Sepahi, two cousins sentenced to death in the case, have been scheduled for a “final family visit,” raising grave concerns that their executions could take place as early as Tuesday morning, July 28.
IranWire has also learned that Somayeh Afshar, Alireza Sepahi’s mother and Abolfazl Sepahi’s mother-in-law, was sentenced to five years in prison in connection with the same case and is currently serving her sentence.
While the available information specifically confirms the situation of these two defendants, several other co-defendants in the case also face death sentences, raising fears that additional individuals may have been summoned for final visits and placed at imminent risk of execution.
