Inter-Ministerial Committee on Migration chairperson Mmamoloko Kubayi has revealed that the South African government is slated for major legislative reform in light of the migration crisis.
Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mmamoloko Kubayi, has unveiled major reforms that promise to reshape the country's approach to migration.
Addressing the media on Sunday, Kubayi, who also chairs the Inter-ministerial Committee on Migration (IMC), indicated that the government is undertaking a comprehensive review of several key pieces of legislation to enhance long-term migration management.
Central to these reforms are the forthcoming Citizenship, Immigration and Refugee Protection Bill, the Employment Services Amendment Bill, and the Business Licensing Bill.
The latter is poised to reserve certain business activities exclusively for South African citizens, signalling a pivotal shift toward prioritising local employment in the economic landscape.
