South African singer songwriter Jimmy Nevis.
If you ask enough talented artists where they first fell in love with music, chances are the answer will sound very familiar: church.
Long before the stages, the studio sessions and the playlists, there was usually a choir, a keyboard and someone reminding you that singing was about far more than hitting the right notes.
For Jimmy Nevis, that story is no different.
Growing up as a pastor's child, the singer recently reflected on how church became his first introduction to music and why those early years continue to influence him today.
