English Expo 2026 conducted at the Municipal Government Higher Secondary School at Kumar Nagar in Tiruppur city was essentially an underpinning for the doctrine ‘exposure infuses confidence’ in ways more than one, according to the subject teachers.The event, expanded to two days in its second edition, served as a platform for students in Tamil Medium to learn English conceptually, says N. Kalpana, Graduate Teacher in English at the school.Three hundred students showcased up to 80 exhibits, focusing on various aspects of English language, including proficiency in vowels and parts of speech, that also required participation of the visitors consisting of peers and teachers from neighbouring schools.Encompassing English grammar, vocabulary, conversation, language skills, and English literature, the event, Ms. Kalpana said, was designed to equip students with the mentality to shed the fear of the language.There were also exhibits to develop interest of students of classes VI to XI in English Literature and the habit of reading, she said.Student participants of the expo received as much encouragement from Headmaster Karuppiah and other English teachers Ezhil, Arul, and Renita who, in turn, were motivated by the feedback from the Chief Educational Officer of Tiruppur district Punitha Anthoniammal; Principal of District Institute of Teacher Education and Training (DIET) Elangovan; and other senior officials.
