The number of students securing centum marks in the Tamil language paper in the public examinations has increased this year compared to last year, said Minister for School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi.
He was speaking at a felicitation event held in Tiruchi on Sunday, organised to honour school heads of government and aided institutions that achieved a 100% pass percentage in the SSLC and Plus Two board examinations 2024–25 in the State, and to appreciate students who secured centum in Tamil.
Mr. Poyyamozhi said that the achievement was made possible by the dedicated guidance and support of teachers. Recognising and rewarding the efforts of teachers and students is vital to sustaining such successes, he added.
Along with Minister for Municipal Administration K. N. Nehru, he distributed certificates to 2,982 school heads for achieving 100% pass percentage and 142 students who excelled in the Tamil paper.
Mr. Nehru noted that a total of 134 students in Plus Two and eight students in SSLC had scored centum in Tamil. Special coaching led by subject experts had played a key role in this success, he said. He assured that an exclusive facility would soon be established on a 10-acre land near the new integrated bus terminus at Panjapur to hold such events.
