The Western Cape High Court on Friday halted public impeachment hearings against the president pending the outcome of his review application challenging the Section 89 Independent Panel report.
The ruling was a temporary victory for Ramaphosa, but not an end to the process that has dogged his presidency since the theft of foreign currency from his Phala Phala farm.
The matter was heard by a full bench of the High Court and resulted in a split judgment, with the majority granting Ramaphosa an interim interdict of limited duration.
