Clouds will gradually clear across Bulgaria on Saturday, July 25, although rain and thunderstorms are still expected in parts of the east and the mountains before warmer weather returns over the following days.
Cloud cover will decrease from the west during the day, bringing mostly sunny conditions to many areas. Morning showers are expected mainly over central Bulgaria and the Rila-Rhodope region. During the afternoon, cumulus clouds will develop, with isolated short-lived rain showers and thunderstorms forecast primarily for the eastern parts of the country and the mountains.
Moderate north-northwesterly winds will continue, becoming temporarily strong in Eastern Bulgaria. Maximum daytime temperatures will range between 24C and 29C, while Sofia is expected to reach around 24C.
Mountain areas will see more persistent cloud cover. Afternoon cumulus and thunderstorm clouds are expected to produce scattered showers and thunderstorms in some locations. Moderate northerly winds will continue, with temperatures reaching around 16C at 1,200 meters and about 9C at 2,000 meters.
Along the Black Sea coast, skies will remain partly to mostly cloudy. Brief showers are possible during the morning, mainly along the southern coast, with additional isolated rainfall expected later in the day. Moderate to temporarily strong northerly winds will persist. Highs will range from 24C to 27C, while sea water temperatures will remain between 24C and 25C. Wave heights are forecast at around 3 on the Beaufort scale, increasing to about 4 along the southern coastline.
