South African Football Association (Safa) president Danny Jordaan has insisted that no agreement has been reached with Hugo Broos over a contract extension, as uncertainty continues to surround the future of the Bafana Bafana head coach.
Broos’ current deal expires at the end of this month after the 74-year-old Belgian previously indicated that he intended to retire from coaching following the 2026 Fifa World Cup.
The veteran mentor guided Bafana to a historic World Cup campaign in North America, where they reached the knockout stages for the first time before exiting in the Round of 32.
However, discussions over Broos’ future have continued, with reports suggesting Safa could offer him a one-year extension to lead the team into next year’s Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in East Africa in June and July.
