The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused the Nigerian government and its agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Army, of orchestrating a sustained "propaganda war" against its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and his Special Counsel, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor.
IPOB also claimed that the Nigerian government and the agencies owe Kanu a cumulative ₦9.5billion in damages arising from multiple court judgments which the group alleged remain valid but have not been complied with.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its spokesperson Emma Powerful on behalf of the group's Directorate of State, IPOB said that Ejimakor has secured a series of legal victories for Kanu at both domestic and international levels, insisting that the Nigerian government has failed to comply with the judgments.
According to the group, the Nigerian government, the DSS, the Nigerian Army, and the South-East Governors' Forum collectively owe Kanu ₦9.5billion in damages arising from various court judgments.
