The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has dragged a woman, Lolo Nneka Chimezie before the Enugu State High Court over allegations of false, malicious, and defamatory viral videos, seeking a total of N500.2billion in damages and a court order compelling her to publicly retract the claims.
According to court documents obtained by SaharaReporters on Monday, the suit marked Suit No. E/746/2026, was filed by Kanu's legal team led by Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, through his attorney, Prince Emmanuel Kanu.
In the originating court processes, Kanu, who is currently serving life imprisonment at Sokoto State Maximum Prison, is asking the court to declare that statements allegedly made by Chimezie in videos circulated across multiple social media platforms between April and June 2026 were false, malicious and defamatory.
Kanu alleged that the videos were widely disseminated on Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and other online platforms, attracting significant public attention both within Nigeria and internationally.
