Ejimakor insisted that it was the Nigerian Supreme Court, not Kanu’s lawyers, that ordered the resumption of the trial after overturning the judgment of the Court of Appeal.
Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to the imprisoned leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has lashed out at critics accusing him and Kanu’s legal team of returning the IPOB leader’s case to court for trial, describing the claims as “well-orchestrated lies” and “blackmail.”
In a statement released on Thursday, Ejimakor said he was compelled to break his silence because of what he described as deliberate misinformation being spread by people who were directly involved in the case and knew the truth.
“This update is necessitated by the well-orchestrated lies/blackmail that it was myself (and the legal team) that ‘took Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case back to court for trial,’” Ejimakor said.
“It is an abomination that these lies and blackmail came from those who knew the gospel truth because they were directly involved in the case.”
