The pupils were found in a scholar transport vehicle during a Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) operation in Park Rynie on the first day of the new school term.
The taxi was impounded, while the driver was fined more than R2,000 for multiple offences, including operating a vehicle with illegally tinted windows and failing to carry a valid driver's licence.
