Kaizer Chiefs will play a starring role in the reopening of the newly refurbished Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace when they face Zimbabwean champions Scotland FC in the Toyota Cup on Sunday.
Amakhosi are set to headline the third edition of the pre-season exhibition match at the Phokeng venue near Rustenburg, with the clash marking the return of football to the 2010 FIFA World Cup stadium after a three-year absence.
The match, scheduled for a 3pm kick-off, will be Chiefs’ latest preparation fixture as they continue building towards the 2026/27 season, while also providing supporters with the first glimpse of the upgraded facility.
The Royal Bafokeng Nation (RBN) confirmed that extensive refurbishment and remedial maintenance work at the stadium has been completed, paving the way for the venue to once again host top-level sporting events.
