Head of the Independent Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), Advocate Andrea Johnson, faced scrutiny on Thursday at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry over contradictions between her testimony before Parliament's Ad Hoc Committee on the SAPS inquiry and her evidence before the commission regarding the same matter.
Both testimonies related to MP Fadiel Adams' affidavit submitted to IDAC under Section 27 of the NPA Act 32 of 1998, which is required for referring cases to the directorate.
The affidavit related to alleged interference by senior police officers in criminal dockets opened at police stations in the Western Cape and Gauteng.
The commission heard that IDAC did not probe the initial complaint lodged by Adams.
