Chicago-based Honeymoon has created a thriving agency around maintaining the feeling that clients and employees usually lose after six months. “A honeymoon is a place people want to go and stay,” the agency wrote in its entry. “And that’s exactly what we’ve been building.”
The independent shop, founded less than five years ago, posted 13% revenue growth in 2025, reaching nearly $20 million, and didn’t lose a single account during the entry period. That, along with its ability to generate buzz and relationships that last beyond the honeymoon phase, helped the agency snag the title of PR Agency of the Year, Gold at the 2026 Ad Age Small Agency Awards.
Major wins included being named lead PR agency across Post Consumer Brands’ 30-brand portfolio—a remit spanning PR, influencer marketing and earned creative—along with PR agency-of-record status for Moen. The agency also took on creative and comms work for BuzzBallz, Svedka, Wholly Guacamole, Blue Moon and Dr. Squatch.
The work reflects what Honeymoon calls “fame by friction,” finding the tension between how a category behaves and how culture actually moves, then designing ideas built for participation. The agency helped engineer a partnership between Fruity Pebbles and Liquid Death—two brands looking to reach new audiences—around the milk left at the bottom of a cereal bowl, turning it into a limited-edition sparkling water flavor called “Cereal Criminal.”
