Human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has told the Federal High Court in Abuja that he intends to call about 20 witnesses, including the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, in his ongoing trial over alleged cyberbullying.
Sowore made this known on Wednesday during the resumed hearing before Justice Mohammed Umar through his lead counsel, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN), who informed the court that the defence would apply to subpoena key officials whose testimony, he said, would assist in establishing the defendant's case.
Olumide-Fusika said the decision became necessary after the second defence witness (DW2), Uwem Davies, a Principal Officer in the General Office of the DSS, repeatedly claimed to have no knowledge of key documents attached to his witness statement.
