The Durban High court has issued warning to the public attending the case against murder accused Ferrel and Darren Govender to not intimidate journalists.
The Durban High Court has issued a stern warning to members of the public attending the murder trial against Ferrel and Darren Govender not to intimidate, threaten or interfere with journalists covering the proceedings.
The warning followed concerns raised by senior State Advocate Krishen Shah before the murder trial of Shailen Singh, who was allegedly killed by the brothers in December 2024, resumed on Wednesday. Shah informed the court that a journalist had allegedly been intimidated by individuals connected to the matter.
“Family members of persons involved are intimidating journalists,” Shah told the court.
He said the defence had been informed of the incident and that police have instructions on what to do. The warning was both on public threatening each other and intimidating the media.
