The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced that it had launched drone strikes against several U.S. military bases in Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain under Phases 21 and 22 of its ongoing “Operation Lightning.” These claims have not been independently verified by U.S. officials or host-nation governments.
According to a public relations statement released by the Iranian Army on Wednesday, July 22, the 22nd phase of the operation targeted personnel housing quarters and equipment storage facilities at the Al-Azraq base in Jordan, as well as maintenance hangars for heavy aircraft and equipment warehouses at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.
The Iranian military claimed that these facilities were “destroyed,” though no independent confirmation or damage reports have been released.
In a separate announcement, the Iranian Army stated that during the 21st phase of “Operation Lightning,” it deployed a “large swarm of kamikaze drones” targeting ammunition depots and logistical support facilities belonging to the U.S. Army Ground Forces Command at Camp Doha, located in western Kuwait.
The statement described Camp Doha as a primary support hub for U.S. regional forces, framing the strike as a direct response to recent military actions by the United States.
