The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran has claimed that, on Friday morning, July 31, it targeted Ali Al Salem Air Base and Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait using kamikaze drones.
In a statement, the Iranian Army’s public relations department claimed that the attack struck fighter jet hangars, satellite communication systems, and US military equipment storage facilities at the bases. The claim has not been confirmed by US Central Command (CENTCOM) or Kuwaiti officials.
Ahmad al-Jaber is one of several military installations used by the US military in Kuwait. The Iranian military has repeatedly claimed to have carried out drone strikes against US positions in the country. In previous reported attacks, the Iranian Army claimed to have targeted administrative buildings and navigation systems at Camp Arifjan, helicopter facilities at Camp Buehring (Udairi), and US troop quarters at Ahmad al-Jaber.
The Iranian military framed the alleged Friday morning attack as a response to recent US strikes on Iran. Iranian state media previously reported US strikes on parts of Qeshm Island, claiming civilian casualties.
However, as of the publication of this report, neither US nor Kuwaiti officials had issued an official statement confirming the alleged attack or any potential damage.
