IDAC head, Advocate Andrea Johnson, has admitted to having close ties with Crime Intelligence deputy, Feroz Khan, but has denied that it has influenced her work and decisions.
Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head Advocate Andrea Johnson has revealed that she maintained contact with Crime Intelligence deputy Feroz Khan, outside the workplace before deliberately distancing herself after allegations surfaced linking him to individuals connected to the Murray murders.
The admission came during her testimony before the Madlanga Commission on Tuesday, where Johnson pushed back against allegations that she had protected Khan from prosecution, insisting she would never interfere with the course of justice.
Johnson told the commission that although she and Khan spoke about various issues outside work and shared a cordial relationship, their contact had faded long before the allegations intensified.
“I had very limited contact with Gen Khan and have had no contact with him for approximately the past year and a half,” she said.
