Complaints against IDAC head Andrea Johnson confirmed by oversight Judge.
The oversight judge at the office of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) confirmed that it has received complaints relating to the head of the unit, Advocate Andrea Johnson, but stressed that no findings have been made and that the matter is being handled in accordance with established legal processes.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the office said it would not ordinarily comment on complaints it receives or matters under consideration. However, it decided to confirm the existence of the complaints because of significant public interest, numerous media enquiries, and the fact that the complaints were already in the public domain.
The office said the complaints are currently receiving attention through its established procedures and are being assessed in line with its statutory mandate and the applicable legal framework.
It emphasised that receiving a complaint should not be interpreted as evidence of wrongdoing or misconduct.
