The Department of Communication at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) announced the third edition of its World Photography Day celebrations and photo contest on Tuesday.“The event aims to promote photography not merely as an art form, but as a powerful medium of communication, documentation and social expression. By bringing together students, professionals and enthusiasts, the programme nurtures a new generation of visual storytellers who use the camera to document society, spark conversations and tell stories that matter,” the department stated.As part of the celebrations, it will host experts to explore contemporary photography practices and conduct interactive sessions on August 19 and 20, along with a five-day photography exhibition beginning on August 19.The contest is open to amateur and professional photographers. Selected entries will be showcased at the exhibition. The top three winners will receive awards, consolation prizes and merit certificates.The last date for submitting entries is August 5.
