Every photo tells a story, and even as the world moves on with time, moments remain alive through the photos, NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha has said while unveiling posters for the World Photography Day, celebrated on August 19, at the Collectorate in Vijayawada on Thursday.Mr. Lakshmisha said the district administration would present district-level awards to outstanding photographers on August 19.The Collector said photojournalists, amateur photographers, and studio photographers residing within the district are eligible to participate in the contest, and entries must be submitted before August 5.The contest will be held in three categories—Andhra Pradesh Heritage, Tourism and Culture; Youth, P4, Economic Development and Welfare; and Best News Photograph. Each participant may submit up to three photographs in each category, with a maximum of nine photographs across all three categories.In each category, the winners will receive ₹10,000, ₹7,000 and ₹4,000 for first, second and third prizes respectively. In addition to these, there will be six consolation prizes of ₹2,000 each.The photographs must have been taken between June 12, 2025, and July 31, 2026. Original photo entries may be submitted either in person or by post to District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) Office, State Guest House, Vijayawada – 520002.For more details, participants may contact K.
